Internal Communist Party Documents Disclose New Campaign to Forcibly "Transform" Millions of Falun Gong Practitioners in China

A series of internal Communist Party documents, some of them posted online, reveal the details of a new three-year, multi-billion dollar campaign targeting Falun Gong practitioners across China. The campaign’s stated goal is to “transform” 75 percent of all known practitioners, who number in the tens of millions despite eleven years of brutal suppression. Specifically, the campaign calls upon security forces to go into “villages and households” to “educate and conquer” Falun Gong practitioners.

Rape, Beatings and Betrayal Typify “Transformation” of Former Top Student

NEW YORK – The life of a top student at Beijing’s prestigious Tsinghua University has been ravaged by a decade of rape, torture and betrayals. According to reports recently received by the Falun Dafa Information Center, the once vibrant and brilliant young woman from Shandong Province, Ms. Liu Zhimei (柳志梅), now lives in a hut, regularly wets her bed, and crouches into the corner of her room with clenched fists whenever someone approaches her. Neighbors have seen her running from her home naked and screaming.

Psychiatric Torture of Falun Gong Practitioners Widespread, Says UN Submission

A report submitted last week to the United Nations torture expert and subsequent statements made during the 13th session of the Human Rights Council highlighted the severity and scale of psychiatric torture used against Falun Gong practitioners in China. Such torture routinely includes the administering of chemical substances that cause damage to the central nervous system.

Nearly 100 Falun Gong Practitioners Killed in 2009, Documents New Report

Large numbers of Chinese citizens detained for practicing Falun Gong continue to die because of brutality suffered at police stations, labor camps and prisons across China, says a new Falun Dafa Information Center report released Thursday. Drawing on both Chinese and international sources, the report, titled “Killed for Their Belief: Falun Gong Deaths from Abuse in 2009,” documents the deaths of 96 Falun Gong practitioners in 2009.

Ms. Chen Jianghong, 46, Hubei

Ms. Chen was imprisoned three times at the Qilihu forced labor camp - each time "sentenced" for one year - in 2000, in 2002, and in 2003. She was repeatedly subjected to severe torture at the camp. She was injected with an unidentified substance, which caused her to have a severe, bleeding rash. The reaction continued following her release and ultimately led to Ms. Chen's death on Oct 25, 2009.

During New York Visit, Chinese Forced Labor Camp Director Sued by Local Refugees for Torture

The man in charge of forced labor camps in China's Guangdong province was served yesterday with a lawsuit while visiting Manhattan. The complaint, filed on behalf of two female refugees now residing in Queens and other victims still in China, urges that the camp system superintendent be held liable for torture, illegal deprivation of liberty, and other severe human rights violations carried out in Guangdong labor camps that he has overseen since 2000.

Large Numbers of Falun Gong Practitioners Targeted for Persecution and Arrest in 2009, Says Congressional-Executive Commission on China

In its 2009 Annual Report released last week, the U.S. government’s Congressional-Executive Commission on China thoroughly documents the continued and intensified targeting of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese security apparatus over the past year. The section on Falun Gong cites, in particular, the involvement of top Chinese Communist Party officials in directing a “strike hard” campaign against Falun Gong, as well as the robust activity of the extralegal 6-10 Office in carrying out such directives.
