Gao Rongrong, 36, was severely persecuted since 1999.  When she lost her job due to the persecution, she filed an appeal.  In July 2003, she was sent to Longshan forced labor camp where she was routinely beaten.  On May 7th, 2004, she was tortured by two camp officials with electric batons for seven straight hours.  The torture seared the skin off her face, head, and neck, and she sustained severe, disfiguring burns.  A small group of practitioners rescued her, and when her photos attracted international attention, the police were ordered to recapture her and suppress all information about her case.  Sources say she was recaptured and sent to Masanjia Hospital on March 6, 2005.  Unconscious, with her organs atrophying, she was hooked up to a respirator.  She died on June 16, 2005.
