Ma Xuejun is skeletal, near death – after being tortured by three police agencies in Jiamusi city

Ma Xuejun endured many forms of torture from Dec. 2002 to Dec. 2003.  Police shocked him with electric batons, forced him to sit in an electric chair, brutally kicked his back, chest and ribs while wearing heavy boots, and smashed his toes with the chair legs, fracturing his ribs and vertebrae.  His toe nails turned blue and fell off, and the ring finger of his right hand became disabled.  Seven months later, “6-10” officials ordered the Jiamusi City Dongfeng District Court to fabricate evidence and sentenced Ma to 12 years’ imprisonment.  He went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention and sentence.  He was handcuffed to an iron loop on the ground for a week, and his esophagus was later injured by force-feeding. He was released to his family in critical condition on December 26, 2003.
